2025 Draft Profile - Khaman Maluach

The Ringer - May 27th: "Players of Maluach’s archetype are typically seen as floor raisers on defense, but his unique style of pick-and-roll defense could be more of a ceiling play. His arms are constantly in motion, moving up and down like he’s an anthropomorphic mini-golf windmill that follows you around the fairway."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 23rd: "Maluach is a raw prospect who picked up the sport as a teenager after focusing primarily on soccer, but he'll provide length and energy with his 7-2 frame and 7-6 wingspan."

NBA Draft Room - May 22nd: "He’s got undeniable tools, is a hard worker who plays the game the right way and has intriguing upside. But I’m not totally bought into that upside. He’s going to be a good defender in the league, even if his shot blocking numbers don’t jump out at you, and he’s a very good play finisher."

Kevin O'Connor - Yahoo! Sports - May 12th: "Maluach is a towering rim protector with switchable mobility, erasing shots at the rim and shadowing quick guards on the perimeter. But beyond dunking lobs, he’s a work in progress on offense with a lack of seasoning as a screener, shooter and creator."

Jonathan Givony - ESPN - March 25th: "Maluach had a positive weekend facing two undersized frontcourts in Mount St. Mary's and Baylor, anchoring Duke's defense in blowout victories. The game seems to be slowing down for Maluach, who is one of the most impactful paint presences in college basketball with an elite combination of mobility, timing, intensity and length."

NBA Draft Room - March 22nd: "Maluach has rare movement skills for his size and some pretty good ball skills as well. He might not be an elite talent but he impacts all aspects of the game, more than shows up a box score."

Jonathan Giovany - ESPN - March 13th: "Maluach is playing an important role for the No. 1 ranked Blue Devils, anchoring the team's top-six defense, inhaling rebounds on both ends and providing vertical spacing as a roller and cutter while sprinting the floor aggressively in transition."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - March 12th: "I'm not quite as high but the appeal is obvious: he's 7-foot-2 with a 7-5 wingspan and a reported 9-8 standing reach to go with rare movement skills for his size."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 11th: "Scouts don't sound concerned by Maluach's raw offense or pedestrian shot-blocking numbers. At his size with the way he moves, they see a surefire finishing weapon and defensive disruptor whose pre-Duke flashes of shotmaking hint at another route to offensive upside."

USA Today - March 11th: "Playing about 20 minutes per game, Maluach is a mobile big who excels in pick-and-rolls and has the hands to catch lobs for easy dunks; soft touch at the rim; shot-blocker/rim protector; active on the offensive glass; will get stronger and has a great aptitude for the game, learning concepts quickly."
