2025 Draft Profile - Liam McNeeley
Jeremy Woo - ESPN - March 25th: "McNeeley finished his season, and likely college career, with 22 points in UConn's near-upset of No. 1 seed Florida. Though somewhat miscast as the Huskies' go-to guy at times, McNeeley had a positive freshman season, handling more responsibility than he possibly could handle. NBA teams remain attracted to his positional size, feel for the game, toughness and versatility."NBA Draft Room - March 22nd: "McNeeley has had an up and down freshman season but has a crystal clear NBA projection as a big wing who can space the floor, be a connective passer and make plays within the flow of the offense. He’s limited with his offensive creativity and struggles to finish in the paint but his 3pt shot is impressive."
Jonathan Giovany - ESPN - March 13th: "McNeeley has had several big moments over the course of his freshman season but has lacked consistency, converting 44% on 2-pointers and 35% on 3-pointers while struggling at times on defense. On a team lacking ball handlers, he has been tasked with more shot-creation responsibility than he is equipped for, and probably will be asked to play a very different role in the NBA, leaning more into his dynamic perimeter shooting ability."
Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - March 12th: "He's returned an even more dynamic weapon, serving in various roles as a creator, scorer and winner. Tough prospect who plays with an edge."
Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 11th: "The athletic and defensive limitations make it difficult to envision star-caliber upside, and he'll need to grow his pull-up game to pose more of a threat offensively. But he should earn the plug-and-play label with a strong catch-and-shoot game, a comfort level capitalizing off the ball and good feel making reads and drives in ball-screen situations."
USA Today - March 11th: "What McNeeley may lack in fluid athleticism, he more than makes up for with a smooth, natural shot and knack for drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line. He also has a quick release and plenty of range to suggest that he should get early minutes."
