2025 Draft Profile - Walter Clayton Jr.

The Ringer - May 27th: "Clayton is very comfortable shooting “in the phone booth”—in other words, his mechanics and focus on the rim seem unaffected by how close the trailing defender or closing contest is. He can quickly square himself coming off of a down screen or move side to side off of a flare."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 23rd: "Florida's NCAA Tournament hero made 39% on dribble-jumpers last season and is one of the more versatile shot-makers in the class."

NBA Draft Room - May 22nd: "I’ve been slow to come around on Walter Clayton Jr. but I’m ready to be proven completely wrong. It would be awesome to see Clayton thrive in the NBA and light it up like he did at Florida. If he lands in the right situation and gets a green light… it could get fun."

Clayton has been far more effective finishing and playmaking, which could help scouts put more stock into his craftiness/skill over an archetype (6'3" scoring guard) that doesn't have the highest success rate at the next level."
