2026 Draft Profile - Karim Lopez

My NBA Draft: Karim Lopez is an international forward with impressive physical tools and scoring ability. He thrives attacking the basket and finishing through contact. Lopez’s strength and athleticism make him effective in transition and as a rebounder. His perimeter shooting is improving, which will be key to his development. Defensively, he has the tools to guard multiple positions. Lopez’s upside lies in his ability to become a physical, versatile forward who can contribute in multiple areas.

Jeremy Woo - ESPN - March 11th: "While this came in a losing context, NBA teams are optimistic about his mix of size, skill and toughness, keeping him in the late-lottery mix going into the predraft process. Scouts feel he needs to make strides as a shooter, improve defensively and maximize his frame to ultimately stick as a stretch 4, which is his most natural position long term."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 10th: "Even at 18 years old in a physical pro league, he's outmuscled bigs and wings inside the arc. Though not overly explosive, he's strong with the ball, while the flashes of ball-handling, shotmaking and passing create theoretical versatility NBA teams crave from the power forward slot."

NBA Draft Room - March 6th: "A highly skilled forward with great ball skills and good size for a wing. Has broad shoulders and good strength and can hold his own inside and out. The best prospect in the history of Mexican basketball."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - March 2nd: "He has excellent hands, is very skilled with the ball and often operates as essentially a mismatch three/four hybrid for the Breakers. He's a physical bowling ball who can play in screens and short rolls. He can attack in a straight line from the perimeter, and he is a solid finisher."
