2014 Draft Profile - Andrew Wiggins

The pride of TOR, Wiggins was easily recognized as a superstar talent as an early teen and over the years did nothing but build up the hype machine to being proclaimed the best prospect since Lebron James. Wiggins has had such high expectations, being just a top 5 frosh this season has led to underachiever labels.

Wiggins is uber athletic. You really have to defend the rim, if he finds a crease in the defense he is going to finish. He can really benefit playing uptempo or with a creative PG. A long 6' 8" with quickness and willingess to defend Andrew has potential for an elite 2way player. For his age he does a great job playing under control, handles well enough to run offense through him, shoots well with range and passes well. As these areas continue to develop he can be an unstoppable scorer with little to no holes.

The knocks are how much his frame can fill out? He lis very thin at just 200 lbs. Not very physical for such an elite prospect. Also, he doesnt have the intense deamor of a superstar. Can disappear at times and may struggle with the expectations that come with his talent. Certainly the Dominique, Vince Carter comps look realistic but he also looks like just a really talented role player at times.

Uses athleticism so well to get to hoop

Quick moves

Outstanding on the break virtually finishes everything

Athleticism and quickness make him a good defender, but it leaves him with even more potential

A natural athlete

Gets off floor very well

Smooth in everything he does

Weaknesses

Not the best shooter

Needs to move better without the ball to get even more open shots and opportunities
