2014 Draft Profile - Noah Vonleh

Strengths:
Has one of the highest upsides of any player in this draft. Excellent athleticism with a near perfect frame, Vonleh is already built like an NBA veteran. Has a motor that should get him minutes from day one. Runs the floor like no one else in this draft and is just as fierce on the defensive end. Very fluid in defense, can guard any position; quick enough to guard a point and strong/ big enough to guard a center.

Offensively he can finish with either hand and definitely can rise up for a highlight reel dunk. One of the youngest freshman in the nation, already very mature. A rebounding freak on both ends, just gets after it whenever he is on the court. No quit in Vonleh.

Has shown the jumper goes out to the 3-point line, will only develop. Can score from the low post or from the outside, game will only improve at the next level.

Weaknesses:
Needs to believe in himself more, wasn’t exactly the man at Indiana on a team that under achieved. Hasn’t exactly proved that he’s ready for the next level, and didn’t dominate the college level. More of a tweener than ready to play either position.

If Vonleh is going to play down low, would like to see him put on a bit of muscle. Needs to work on basketball IQ. Doesn’t understand how to move the ball at the right time, can’t pass out of a double team. Stroke is pretty solid, just keep working on it at this level.

Not a huge project but many things he can work on including a killer instinct. Plays hard but should want the ball more at certain times instead of deferring to others who don’t have the same skill set that he does. Prove he’s a true scorer at the next level.
